Guided Tour Guide

The Official Guided Tour of the Metropolitano

Why it differs from the standard ticket and who should book it.

The standard Metropolitano ticket already goes deep behind the scenes. What the guided tour adds is a person from the club: someone who tells you what happens in the dressing room before a derby, why the benches sit where they do, and what Diego Simeone’s press conferences look like from the front row. Atlético sells it as a separate experience, and it is a different intent from simple admission.

What the guided tour covers

The Atlético de Madrid guided stadium tour with museum entry is run by Atleti Tour & Museum itself, with official guides in Spanish and English. It starts from $37 per person and holds a 4.7 rating from 137 reviews.

Your guide takes the group into the first-team dressing room, down the players’ tunnel to the pitch side and onto the benches. You then visit the press room and the presidential box. The guided section is listed at an hour and a half.

When it ends, you move into the interactive museum on your own. It covers the club from its founding in 1903 to today with touchscreens, virtual reality glasses, projectors and games. Allow around another hour.

Guided or standard?

The rooms are the same on both. The standard Tour & Museum ticket costs $8 less and lets you walk at your own pace, with an optional audio guide. Book the guided tour if you want:

  • stories and anecdotes rather than signage,
  • the chance to ask questions (reviewers say guides answer every one),
  • a set structure, which helps with children or a group.

Choose the standard ticket if you prefer to take your time over photos, or if you’re short on time and want to move quickly.

The premium option

For something more exclusive, the Premium Tour with breakfast in Simeone’s box starts an hour before the stadium opens to the public, so your small group has the building to itself. After the guided route you go up to the coach’s private box for coffee and pastries. It starts from $86 per person and has only a handful of reviews so far.

Before you go

Atlético is explicit that the tour may be suspended or modified without notice for sporting or organisational reasons, with the option to exchange tickets for another day. Match weekends are the most likely to be affected; see stadium tours on match days. Arrive a few minutes before your slot, because tours start on time. Take Metro Line 7 to Estadio Metropolitano.

"Thank you Carmin for the tour, was very enjoyable to experience and something I will never forget."

Ronnie United Kingdom

"Nice guided visit. Knowledgeable and friendly live guide who divided the group into English and Spanish speakers. That gave us the opportunity to look around at our leisure during the explanation in the other language. We were allowed to see a lot, including the dressing room and press room (unlike Real Madrid, where this was not allowed). Simply a good guided visit at a good price! Very satisfied."

William Netherlands

"Great tour, super nice live guide (lady) who spoke enthusiastically and to whom you could also ask all kinds of questions. Plenty of time, very nice stadium and the value for money was excellent. Recommended!"

Rina Netherlands

"It was my grandson who went on the tour, and he absolutely loved it!!!!"

Artur Ribeiro Araujo da Brazil

"go back to see my team's stadium and the friendliness and professionalism of all the club staff"

Enrique Segura Spain

"The guide was brilliant and made it very personal and answered every question that was asked. Couldn’t fault any part of it even as a fan of a completely different football club from a different country."

Andy United Kingdom

"There was no guide, so we explored the stadium on our own. The experience was very good, everything was fine."

Olaf Poland

"Top tour, you definitely won't get less for your money anywhere else: we were able to go into the changing rooms, through the players' and presidents' tunnel into the stadium, take photos everywhere in peace and there was also a VR experience, plus there were free lockers where you could store your things... you can only get into some areas through the tour and not as a normal spectator. Thanks again to Gabriel, who speaks both fluent English and Spanish, a great tour without any rush!"
