Madrid Stadium Tours with Children
Ages, prices, timings and which museum holds their attention.
Both of Madrid’s big stadium tours welcome families, but they suit children differently. The Bernabéu impresses older fans with sheer scale and silverware. The Metropolitano keeps younger children busy with hands-on displays and a walk down the players’ tunnel. Here is how to choose, what it costs and how to make the day easier.
Best for younger children: the Metropolitano
Atlético’s Tour & Museum ticket is our family pick. It starts from $29 per person on GetYourGuide, and on Atlético’s own price list children aged 4 to 13 pay €18 while under-4s go free.
Children usually enjoy the route itself: the first-team dressing room with shirts on the pegs, the tunnel out to the pitch side and a sit on the red benches. The interactive museum does the rest, with touchscreens, projections, virtual reality glasses and games that tell the club’s story from 1903. Reviewers mention grandchildren who loved it, and one describes a son’s kick-off on the pitch as the highlight of the trip.
For that moment, the Honorary Kick-Off experience takes you to the centre circle to kick a ball while a guide films it. It costs more, from $86 per person, and needs flat shoes with no studs or heels.
Best for older fans: the Bernabéu
The Tour Bernabéu ticket from $42 is the one for a football-mad ten-year-old or teenager. Under-5s go free. The panoramic view of the renovated stadium, the room of 15 European Cups and the players’ benches make a strong impression, and the self-guided format lets you move at a child’s pace.
The museum is large, though, and one-way. Younger children can tire before the end, so book a morning slot and plan a snack stop afterwards. If your children would enjoy the stories more than the displays, a guided tour such as the ExperienceFirst guided tour can hold their attention; one reviewer brought a grandson and loved it.
Time needed
| Tour | With children, allow |
|---|---|
| Tour Bernabéu Classic | About 1.5 to 2 hours |
| Atleti Tour & Museum | About 2 hours |
| Guided Bernabéu tour | 2 hours, fixed pace |
| Metropolitano Kick-Off | About 2 hours |
Doing both stadiums in one day is possible with teenagers but a lot for younger children. Choose one, or split them over two days.
Practical tips for parents
- Go early. Both stadiums are calmer in the morning. The Bernabéu opens at 9am Monday to Saturday; the Metropolitano at 11am.
- Travel light. The Bernabéu has no cloakroom and turns away large luggage. Security checks apply at both.
- Think about the pushchair. Routes include stairs and one-way sections, so a carrier is easier for babies. Families with mobility needs should contact the club first.
- Avoid match days. The Bernabéu’s benches and changing rooms close on match days and the day before. See stadium tours on match days.
- Budget for the shop and photos. Both tours end in a club shop, and souvenir photos cost extra.

What Metropolitano Visitors Say
Ratings and review counts are the operators' live figures on GetYourGuide and may shift slightly day to day.
"Excellent, very interactive, and the staff is very friendly. The only downside is that they don't allow you to go down the tunnel to the pitch."

"Everything was beyond my expectations,i came with my husband who is a huge fan and I experienced all the history and the feeling of the team,i almost cried, so sentimental. And the experience watching the stadium from the VIPs...i mean... you don't know what you are missing if you don't come...👏👏👏🫶"
"We didn't regret visiting the Riyad stadium of Atlético de Madrid. We enjoyed a pleasant tour. A magnificent trophy room! Interactive experiences like karaoke, VR, etc. On the day of our visit on the 25th, the stadium was being prepared for The Weeknd's shows! It was amazing to see how close it was to the stage. The tour is really much cheaper than the Bernabeu, which we saw without a tour. On the other hand, the Atlético stadium is close to a park and the metro. The esplanade is nice, with fast-food restaurants open even when there are no games."

"Nice tour! Despite the small museum, it's very nice to visit. However, the trophy room was not accessible on the day of the tour."

"Thoroughly enjoyable tour and the fact you can choose self guided aswell is a bonus. Would highly recommend anyone to do it"
"We did the self tour and it was amazing, got to see the whole stadium but in our own time, one of the best stadium tours ive done, well worth the visit."

"Excellent tour - nice innovative elements which made it fun. You could feel the passion of the club. Much better than the Real Madrid tour."

Family Stadium Tour FAQ
Ages, prices and practical questions from parents.
Yes, for children who like football. The panoramic view, the trophy room and sitting on the players' benches are the highlights. Very young children may find the museum long, so a morning slot helps.
At the Bernabéu, children under 5 enter free. At the Metropolitano, Atlético's own pricing lets children aged 0 to 3 in free, with a reduced child price for ages 4 to 13.
Atlético's own price for the Tour & Museum is €18 for children aged 4 to 13, against €25 for adults. On the club's guided tour, children pay €25.
The Metropolitano, for most families. It costs less, it is usually quieter, and its interactive museum uses touchscreens, projections, virtual reality and games.
Allow about 90 minutes at the Bernabéu and about two hours at the Metropolitano. Children who stop at every interactive screen will take longer.
Both routes include stairs, and the Bernabéu has no cloakroom. A baby carrier is easier. Families with mobility needs should contact the club before visiting; Atlético asks visitors with reduced mobility to email in advance.
On Atlético's Honorary Kick-Off experience, yes. Reviewers have booked it for their children. Everyone needs flat shoes with no studs or heels.
It works well with older children who love football and like to ask questions. Younger children usually prefer the freedom of a self-guided ticket.
