Best guided tour at the Metropolitano

Best private tour

Rosotravel’s private Bernabéu tour gives your group its own licensed guide in English, Spanish, French, German or Italian, with tickets included. It starts from $328 per person, so it suits families and small groups who value a tailored pace. It has only six reviews so far, all five stars.

Best special experience

Atlético sells two extras Real Madrid doesn’t. The honorary kick-off puts you in the centre circle of the Metropolitano with photos and video, from $86. The Premium Tour with breakfast in Simeone’s box, also from $86, starts before the stadium opens to the public. Both have few reviews so far, so book them for the experience rather than a proven track record.

Bernabéu vs Metropolitano, compared

Madrid’s two club tours are different enough that one is not a smaller version of the other. The Bernabéu is strongest on Real Madrid’s history and trophies; the Metropolitano is better for behind-the-scenes access and an interactive museum.

Bernabéu strengths

The trophy room is the reason most people come: all 15 of Real Madrid’s European Cups in one long room, with league trophies, Ballon d’Or awards and original shirts around them. The renovated stadium adds the scale, seen from high in the stands at the start of the route, with the new retractable roof overhead.

Metropolitano strengths

Atlético lets you further into the working stadium. The route follows the players from the dressing room through the tunnel to the benches, then takes in the press room and the presidential box. It is also the cheaper ticket, from $29 against $42.

Museums compared

Both museums are substantial. Real Madrid’s leans on trophies and European history and runs one-way over several floors. Atlético’s tells the club’s story since 1903 with touchscreens, projections and virtual reality, which suits visitors who prefer interactive displays to glass cases. Fans who read every display and stop for photos need longer than the listed times at either.

Behind-the-scenes access

At the Bernabéu the changing room and benches are part of the route on non-match days only; they close on match days and the day before. The Metropolitano’s route goes further behind the scenes, but Atlético says it can be changed or suspended for sporting or organisational reasons. At both, a weekday with no match gives you the fullest visit.

Families and kids

Stadium views, tunnels and dressing rooms hold children’s attention better than long runs of static displays, which gives the Metropolitano an edge with younger fans. Under-5s go free at the Bernabéu and under-4s at Atlético. With young children, book a morning or late-morning slot and avoid another tightly timed attraction straight afterwards. Location and transport

Santiago Bernabéu metro station on Line 10 is closed for works until the end of 2026, so ride to Nuevos Ministerios and walk about 15 minutes, or take the free S10 bus. The Metropolitano is on Madrid’s eastern edge: take Line 7 to Estadio Metropolitano, 30 to 40 minutes from the centre. On match days allow extra time for crowds at both.
