What a guide changes

The pace. Guided tours run to a fixed schedule of about two hours. With the Classic ticket you arrive at your slot and move as fast or slow as you like. Most people take around 90 minutes.

Flexibility. The independent guided tours offer free cancellation up to 24 hours before. The Classic ticket listing does not show free cancellation, so check the terms before you pay.

Who should book which

Book the Classic ticket if you follow Real Madrid, you like to read displays at your own speed, you are travelling on a budget, or you want an early slot before the crowds build.

Book a guided tour if you are not a football fan but your partner or children are, you want the history explained, English commentary matters to you, or you like the structure of a group. On a match day

Real Madrid closes the changing rooms and benches on match days and the day before, and the tour ends five and a half hours before kick-off.
